Natural looking breast implants

Breast Implants

Implants are medical devices that are implanted under the breast tissues or under the chest muscles to increase the breast size, augmentation and to rebuild breast tissue. Implants are also used as a revision surgery, to correct the results of an original surgery. There are two types of implants saline filled and silicone gel filled. Both of the types have a silicone outer shell. They vary in size, shell thickness and shape.
Breast Implant surgery can be performed in a surgery center, hospital, or in a doctor's office. The concerned patients may have to stay overnight in the hospital. The surgery can be done under local anesthesia, where the patients remain awake and only the breast is awake. Breast implant surgery can last from one to several hours, depending on the circumstances.
Have a consultation with your surgeon. Be prepared to ask questions about his earlier experiences. Ask your surgeon about risks and benefits of having Implants. Tell your surgeon about your medical history, drug allergies if you have any. Discuss any previous surgery if you had. It is important to tell the surgeon if you think you may be pregnant.
Be sure to ask about the patient labeling for the breast implants to be used. You have the right to request this information. It will help you take care of them.

At this time, it is not known what will happen if a silicon may passes from the breast implant silicon shell into breast milk.
In additions, concerns have also been raised regarding potential damaging effects on children born from implanted mothers. Two studies on human found that no increased risk of birth defects in children born to mothers having breast Implants.
